Game Design

Our course introduces students to game design by guiding them through the creation of their own graphics and characters using tools like Pixlr. Being able to design their own characters, build their own environments, and ultimately develop game mechanics they feel fit, they’ll each create a game that is uniquely their own each session they come in for.

Students will master the basics of programming by developing code for their games in Scratch. They'll learn how to structure scripts, use loops, and manage variables, while gradually advancing to more complex functions like procedures and broadcasting. With each project, they’ll improve their logical thinking and problem-solving skills, gaining a strong foundation in coding.

By the end of the course, students will have created a portfolio of their own games and gained key skills in programming, graphic design, and AI integration. They’ll understand essential coding concepts like loops and algorithms, while also exploring AI technologies. An exciting year-round, project-based course for kids between ages of 8 and 15


During every lesson, kids will have the opportunity to design and build their own games using Scratch, a powerful platform specially crafted for learning.

Unlike a typical school settings where time constraints limit complex projects, our course allows students to progressively tackle more intricate game designs over time. They’ll not only master programming fundamentals but also delve into graphic design tools to customize their creations with unique visuals.

We’ll also introduce them to AI technologies, making their projects even more exciting and innovative.

Maryna is highly-qualified Computer science teacher from Ukraine with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science and a Master’s in Secondary Education.

She is the founder of //magic school, a programming school based in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Maryna has spent the last 10 years teaching kids programming at the highest level, she specializes in preparing students to compete in both national and international competitions, including IOI and ICPC. 

She is also the author of a proprietary educational methodology in Computer Science, which has been effectively integrated into top-ranked public and private schools in Ukraine.

No, your child does not need to bring their own device. Our location is equipped with the latest computers that provide more than enough resources for the activities (INTEL I5-12400 2.5GHz & NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 144Hz Monitors, top of the line Cherry XTRFY peripherals)

We aim for a class size of 7-10 children to ensure that each child receives sufficient time and attention, while also providing enough peers to facilitate teamwork skill development.

No, this course is designed for beginner to advanced students. Our curriculum is ingeniously designed so that concepts from each day integrate into the next, gradually enhancing complexity while ensuring a captivating learning journey.

Yes, that’s possible starting from Monday. Unfortunately, joining mid-week isn’t feasible since each day’s tasks build upon the knowledge from previous sessions

At this age, even a one-year difference can significantly impact how a child absorbs material. Therefore, we don’t recommend enrolling children younger than the specified age. However, an exception may apply if your child is a passionate enthusiast of programming, and you’re confident that it’s suitable for them.

Yes, you can reschedule dates if slots are available. Please notify us as early as possible in advance.

Yes, if you notify us a month in advance.
Otherwise, no. If we’ve reserved a spot for you, it may mean turning away someone else. Therefore, in the event of a complete cancellation, the deposit is non-refundable.

      Please note, anyone looking to attend Trial Class is expected to attend or cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Spaces are limited and when booking and not attending you are taking an opportunity away from someone else. We kindly ask our attendees to take attendance seriously. The code is active for 2 applications in case you need to reschedule, once used up a Trial Class will be charged at our standard Pay-as-you-go rates of £25/£30 per lesson.
